Case for Support

The guided narrative that makes your case to donors — build it once, then share it as a public web page or a PDF.

Find it: Left nav → Fundraising → Case for Support · Who can use it: Org Admin / CDO and Development Associates can build and publish; other roles cannot open the editor.

What you'll see

The Case for Support page lists each case as a card with its title, a Published or Draft badge, and when it was last updated. An amber note reminds you to review and refresh your case annually so it always reflects current goals and impact. Open a case to reach the guided builder — an editable title, action buttons, and a text box for each section.

How to build a case

  1. Click New case, enter a Title (for example, "2026 Annual Fund — Case for Support"), and click Create. It opens the builder.
  2. Fill in each guided section in order, using the prompt under each heading:
    • Introduction — who you are and an invitation to join.
    • The Need — the concrete, urgent problem you solve.
    • Mission — the change you exist to create.
    • Impact — results, stories, and numbers.
    • Campaign Goals & Fund Allocation — the goal and how funds are used.
    • Why Now — the urgency and opportunity.
    • Milestones & Timeline — key milestones and dates.
    • Donor Recognition — how donors are recognized at each level.
    • How You Can Help — specific giving examples and calls to action.
    • Conclusion — a warm, forward-looking close.
  3. Click Save. You can leave sections blank and return later; empty sections are simply hidden from the public page.

How to publish it

  1. In the builder, click Publish. Your case goes live at a shareable public web address and the button changes to Unpublish.
  2. Click Public page to open the live version in a new tab. Copy that URL to share it with donors.
  3. To take it offline, click Unpublish.

How to share and print

  • Share the Public page link directly, or embed it wherever you reach donors.
  • On the public page, click Export PDF to open your browser's print dialog — save as PDF or print a hard copy.

Good to know

  • Only filled sections appear on the public page; the page is branded with your organization name.
  • Editing and re-saving updates the live page immediately while it's published.
  • The Delete (trash) icon removes a case permanently.
  • Refresh your case at least once a year so goals, impact, and milestones stay current.
