Pipeline

A kanban board of your donors by engagement stage — drag them forward as relationships progress.

Find it: Left nav → Pipeline · Who can use it: Everyone can view. Org Admins / CDOs, Development Associates, and in-scope committee chairs/members can move donors; Board Viewers see it read-only.

What you'll see

Donors are laid out in columns, one per stage, running left to right: Unengaged → Identified → Committee Assignment → Contacted → Cultivated → Solicited → Gift Received → Thanked + Stewarded → Upgrade Strategy → Reassessment. Each donor card shows the name, category badge, tier, and a small OK-to-ask dot. The board shows your top donors by lifetime giving (capped at 400 for speed) — for the full set, use List view to work with filters. The Donor Category Key at the bottom decodes the badges.

How to move a donor's stage

  1. Find the donor's card in its current column.
  2. Drag it to the target stage column and drop it.
  3. The move saves automatically and a confirmation appears. (You can also change a donor's stage from the Pipeline & next action card on their profile.)

How to read the board

  1. Scan left to right to see where relationships are clustering — a pile-up in early stages means cultivation work ahead; a healthy flow reaches Gift Received and Thanked + Stewarded.
  2. Check each card's OK-to-ask dot before you push someone toward Solicited — it flags whether the timing is right to ask.
  3. Watch the Reassessment column — donors land here to re-enter the pipeline after 12 months of no action.

Good to know

  • The stages mean: Unengaged (never contacted), Identified (screening or giving history on file), Committee Assignment (routed to a committee), Contacted (first outreach), Cultivated (meetings, tours, events), Solicited (a specific ask made), Gift Received, Thanked + Stewarded, Upgrade Strategy (toward recurring, planned, or a naming gift), and Reassessment.
  • Every Tier A–D donor should have a stage and a next action.
  • If the board is empty, add donors to start moving them through.
  • Need to filter by category, tier, or thank-you ratio? Switch to List view with the button in the header.
