Your Action Plan

Every donor, grouped by what to do next — then turned into real tasks with one click.

Find it: Left nav → Action Plan · Who can use it: Org Admins / CDOs and Development Associates (roles that can edit donors). It's the natural first stop right after an import.

What you'll see

The screen sorts your donors into up to four urgency groups, each in its own colored card with a count, a short "why it matters" line, the first six donor names, and a Create tasks button. A summary line at the top tells you how many donors sit across how many groups. The four groups are:

  • Thank & steward first — they gave recently but no thank-you is logged. Honor the 48-hour rule for mid and major donors: thank first, before any ask.
  • Reactivate — At Risk (LYBNTY) and Lapsed donors. Re-engage with a re-entry ask before they're gone; each shows a suggested re-entry amount where one applies.
  • Cultivate for upgrade — engaged, steady donors (recurring and mid-level) who are ready for an upgrade conversation.
  • Major donor attention — high-capacity majors not yet assigned to a committee or staff member; route them for personal cultivation.

How to read a group

  1. Read the group's one-line why to understand the play.
  2. Scan the listed donor names; each carries its category badge so you can see the mix at a glance.
  3. Click any name to open that donor's profile. If a group has more than six donors, a + N more donors note tells you how many aren't shown.

How to create tasks

  1. Find the group you want to act on.
  2. Click Create tasks on that card.
  3. The app generates a next-action task for each donor in the group — a thank-you, a reactivation outreach, an upgrade cultivation, or a major-donor assignment, with a sensible due date.
  4. A confirmation tells you how many tasks were created and how many donors already had an open task (those are skipped, never duplicated).

Good to know

  • Groups only appear when they contain donors — an empty group is hidden.
  • Create tasks never double-books: donors who already have an open task are skipped.
  • If nothing needs action, you'll see "Nothing needs action right now" — import donors with gift history (or log gifts) to populate the plan.
  • Use the Donor Category Key at the bottom of the page to decode the badges.
